Robyn is the Director of Gender and Equity at The Nature Conservancy (TNC), one of the largest global environmental NGOs with over 5,000 staff operating in over 80 countries.
Robyn has worked across the environment and climate sectors for over 25 years and has developed deep experience in gender, equity and social justice in community-based conservation and climate work, philanthropy, and government policies and programs. Robyn has also worked in conservation in many capacities – from being a wildlife ranger in far north Australia, to teaching and researching the social dimensions of conservation at University of Queensland, to supporting sustainable and equitable policy development across Australia and the broader Asia Pacific region.
In addition to Robyn’s role at TNC, she is also completing a PhD on Women, Equity and Leadership in Conservation at the University of Queensland School of Social Sciences, and regularly speaks and publishes in peer reviewed journals. Most recently, Robyn led research into gender inequity and sexism in the conservation and climate sector and in scientific research and publishing.
Robyn is also a WELA alum, having participated in WELA x Global Leadership Foundation 2023 Women Leaders Retreat.
