Women Deliver 2026: What’s On

Let's connect! WELA at Women Deliver 2026

As the Women Deliver 2026 Conference unfolds in Naarm, WELA is proud to be part of a series of conversations bringing feminist climate leadership into sharper focus.

Across the week, we’re partnering with global and regional organisations, contributing to critical discussions, and creating space for connection, collaboration and action. From mapping the rise of gender and climate backlash, to shaping feminist priorities for COP31, and exploring what it takes to deliver a feminist just transition, these events reflect the urgency and opportunity of this moment.

If you’re attending Women Deliver or in Naarm this week, we’d love to connect with you.

Have Your Sei: A gathering for Pasifika women

Tuesday 28 April | 6:30–9:30pm | Community Hub at the Dock, 912 Collins St Docklands

Hosted by Kavita Naidu

As part of the week’s gatherings, WELA is proud to support Have Your Sei, a space for Pasifika women to come together in community.

Wear your favourite sei, pull up a chair, and join a talanoa on women’s advocacy in the Pacific. This will be a fun evening of collaboration and solidarity.

All Pasifika women are welcome, whether you’re attending Women Deliver 2026 Conference or you’re just down the road.

Australian Consultation | From Women Deliver to COP31 | Feminists’ Calls to Action

Wednesday 29 April | 11am | Climate Pavilion

Hosted by the Feminist Climate Collective & Women and Gender Constituency

As Australia prepares to take on a global leadership role as COP31 President, there is a critical opportunity to shape a climate agenda that is inclusive, participatory and gender-responsive.

This consultation — led by the Feminist Climate Collective (FeCC) in partnership with the Women and Gender Constituency — will bring together voices from across Australia, the Pacific and globally. Through a combination of ongoing consultation and a dedicated session, participants will contribute to a shared set of feminist priorities and expectations for Australia’s COP31 leadership.

Insights gathered will be shared with the Australian Government and help inform gender-responsive approaches in the lead-up to COP31.

Open to anyone attending Women Deliver. No RSVP required.

WELA Feminist Just Transitions Roundtable

Friday 1 May | 9:30am–5:00pm | Melbourne City Bowls Club, West Melbourne

Hosted by WELA and partners

Alongside Women Deliver, WELA is convening a dedicated roundtable bringing together Australian and global leaders working on just transitions.

This is a space to build relationships, share knowledge, and grapple with a critical question: what does it actually take to make a feminist just transition real?

Across the day, participants will explore:

  • What feminist just transition principles look like in practice
  • Where the barriers and opportunities lie across sectors and regions
  • How movements and actors can collaborate to accelerate change
  • What leadership is needed in the lead-up to COP31 and beyond

By invitation only. If you’re interested in learning more or joining this roundtable, please reach out to sarojini@wela.org.au

Workshop: Understanding and responding to gender and climate backlash

Tuesday 28 April | 12:00–12:30 AEST | Room 219

Hosted by ODI Global, with support from WELA & International Women’s Development Agency (IWDA)

With a global backlash against gender equality on the rise, efforts to roll back progress are becoming increasingly coordinated and visible. Climate movements are facing similar resistance, meaning feminist climate movements are navigating dual and intersecting forms of backlash.

This interactive workshop will map where gender and climate backlash are occurring, and unpack the narratives, drivers and tactics behind them. Bringing together global perspectives, new research and participatory mapping, the session will also explore opportunities to advance gender equality and climate action in this context.

Insights from the session will help shape future research by ODI Global.

Speakers include:

  • Alice Ridge, International Women’s Development Agency (IWDA)
  • Brianna Craft, ODI Global
  • Diana Jiménez Thomas Rodriguez, ODI Global
  • Noelene Nabulivou, DIVA for Equality
  • Nittaya Earkanna, Inter Mountain Peoples Education and Culture in Thailand
  • Pasanna Mutha-Merennege, Women’s Environmental Leadership Australia (WELA)
  • Consultation: Feminist priorities for COP31

RSVP your interest to h.murray@odi.org

We hope to see you at one (or more) of these events as we come together to shape a feminist climate future.
